Circular saw blades for wood, sized for hand-held circular saws, plunge saws, mitre saws and table saws from 160mm to 350mm. The range is made up of TCT blades from Bosch, Freud and Festool, with Tool-Co and Tork Craft for budget work and SawStop blades for its saws, so you can match tooth count and grind to the cut rather than settling for a general-purpose blade.
Choosing circular saw blades for wood
- Diameter and bore. Common sizes stocked: 160mm and 165mm for plunge and cordless saws, 184mm and 190mm for hand-held circular saws, 210mm and 216mm for mitre saws, 250mm and 254mm for table saws, and 305mm for large mitre saws. The bore must match your arbor; reduction rings are available for some combinations.
- Tooth count. 24 teeth rips along the grain fast. 40 to 48 teeth is the general-purpose choice. 60 to 96 teeth gives clean crosscuts and chip-free edges in veneered board.
- Grind. Freud flat-top grind blades are for ripping and flat-bottomed grooves; alternate top bevel for crosscutting.
- Kerf. Thin-kerf blades put less load on cordless and smaller saws.
