A drill guide turns a hand-held drill into a tool that bores square, straight and repeatable holes in timber, metal and board. This collection stocks MilesCraft, Kreg, Festool and Woodpeckers drill guides, portable drill presses, drill blocks and right-angle drill attachments for cabinet makers, furniture builders and anyone fitting hardware where a bench drill press cannot reach.
Choosing a drill guide
- Simple drill block. The MilesCraft DrillBlock+ and Kreg KDG-6000 drilling guide are pocket-sized hardened guides with fixed bores. Put the block on the mark and the hole goes in square. Ideal for dowels and shelf pins.
- Portable drill press. The MilesCraft Accu Drill Mate and DrillMatePRO clamp a drill into a column with a depth stop, so you get drill-press accuracy on a door, a beam or a sheet too big for the bench. The DrillFence edge guide adds repeatable spacing. The Festool MB 40 mobile drilling attachment is the premium version for Festool drills.
- Shelf pins and cabinet hardware. The MilesCraft Cabinet Mate drills 5mm shelf-pin rows at the 32mm spacing cabinet hardware is designed around.
- 90 degree drill attachment. The MilesCraft Drive 90 Plus and Drill 90 Plus and the Kreg 90° pocket-hole driver let you drill or drive inside cabinets and between joists where the drill body cannot fit.
- Repeat accuracy. The Woodpeckers Auto-Line drill guide self-centres on the edge of a board for dowel and hinge work on production runs.
Drill guide or pocket-hole jig?
A drill guide makes a straight hole for dowels, hinges and bolts. A pocket-hole jig drills an angled hole for a screw joint. Many cabinet builders own both. See our pocket hole jigs, the complete MilesCraft range, and stock up on brad-point and HSS drill bits to use with them.
