Choosing air fittings and couplers
The most important step is matching thread type and coupler standard across your whole air line: a compressor, hose and tool all need compatible connections, and mixing standards, such as a different coupler profile or thread pitch, is the most common cause of air fittings that won't seat or that leak under pressure. Check whether you need a quick-connect coupler for tool changeovers or a fixed threaded fitting for a permanent line, and match hose fittings to your existing hose diameter before buying. If you're unsure what's currently fitted, bringing in the old part or hose end makes it far quicker to match on the shop floor.
