A cordless blower clears sawdust from the bench, blows out machinery and fittings, and sweeps leaves off the driveway, all on the battery you already own. This collection ranges from compact workshop blowers to twin-battery and 40V garden units, and includes a cordless inflator. Brands stocked are Makita, Bosch Professional, DeWalt, Einhell, Metabo and Hikoki.
Choosing a cordless blower
- Workshop or garden. The Bosch GBL 18V-120, DeWalt DCV100, Einhell TE-CB 18/180 and Metabo BP 18 LTX BL are compact blowers for dust and debris around tools and vehicles. For leaves and lawn clippings over a larger area, move up to the Makita DUB362Z or Hikoki RB36DA.
- Voltage. 18V bare tools are the entry point. The Makita DUB362Z takes two 18V batteries for 36V output, and the Makita UB001GZ runs on the 40V XGT platform for sustained high air volume.
- Brushless motors. The Makita UB001GZ and Metabo BP 18 LTX BL use brushless motors for longer runtime per charge.
- Inflation. The Makita DMP180Z is a cordless inflator for tyres, balls and camping gear rather than a blower.
Makita cordless blower and the 18V battery platform
Most buyers choose by the batteries in their kit. A Makita cordless blower such as the DUB186Z drops straight onto 18V LXT packs, and the same goes for DeWalt XR, Einhell Power X-Change, Metabo and Hikoki. See batteries and chargers if you need power, garden blowers for corded and petrol options, and cordless vacuums when you would rather collect the dust than move it.
