Dremel bits turn a rotary tool into a cutter, carver, sander, grinder or polisher depending on what you fit in the collet. This collection holds the full Dremel accessory range for hobbyists, model makers, jewellers and tradespeople who need fine detail work in wood, metal, plastic, tile and grout.
Choosing a Dremel bit
- Cutting. The Dremel EZ SpeedClic Metal Cutting Wheels (SC456) snap on without a screw and cut bolts, sheet and rod. For tile and glass, use the EZ SpeedClic Diamond Cutting Wheel (SC545DM).
- Carving and engraving. The Dremel Carving Bit (117DM) and Carving bit (115DM) are high-speed cutters for shaping wood and softer materials.
- Sanding and finishing. Dremel Sanding Bands in 13 mm (432, 120 grit; 408, 60 grit) fit the drum mandrel. The Finishing Abrasive Buffs (512S) and Bristle Brush (403) handle polishing and cleaning.
- Drilling and routing. The Dremel Precision Drill Bit Set (628) drills tiny holes, and the Multipurpose Router Bit Set (660) lets the tool work as a small router with the right attachment.
- Attachments. The Right Angle Attachment 575 reaches into corners, the Multi Chuck (4486) grips any shank from 0.8 to 3.2 mm, and the Chainsaw Sharpening Attachment 1453 touches up chain teeth.
Dremel bits for wood versus metal
Wood takes high-speed steel cutters, carving bits and sanding bands well because it clears easily. Metal needs the reinforced cutting wheels and the tungsten carbide or diamond coated bits, run at a steady speed and with light pressure so the bit does not overheat. For grout, use the dedicated Grout Removal Bits 1,6 mm (569).
