A wall chaser machine cuts two parallel slots in brick, block or plaster so you can chisel out a clean channel for conduit, cable or pipe. This collection holds wall chasers from Einhell, Makita and Dewalt, plus a large diamond saw, for electricians, plumbers and renovation contractors who need neat chases without hours on a cold chisel.
Choosing a wall chaser
- Corded or cordless. The Einhell Wall Chaser TE-MA 1700 and Makita Wall Chaser 125Mm SG1251J plug in for all-day use. The Dewalt 54V Cordless Wall Chaser DCG200NT runs on a battery for new builds without power.
- Cutting depth and width. The slot width is set by spacers between the two blades, and depth by the plunge setting. Check both against the conduit size before you buy.
- Dust control. Chasing masonry makes a lot of fine dust. Every machine here has an extraction port; connect it to a vacuum rated for construction dust.
- Heavy cutting. For deep single cuts through thick masonry or paving, the Makita Diamond Saw Dry Cutting 355Mm 2400W (Without Blade) 4114S is the big tool on this page.
Wall chaser or angle grinder
An angle grinder with a diamond disc will cut a slot, but it cuts one line at a time, throws dust everywhere and wanders unless you clamp a guide. A wall chaser cuts both edges of the chase in one pass at a set depth, with a dust port and a flat base that rides on the wall. For an occasional short chase the grinder works; for a whole house of conduit runs the chaser saves hours of cutting and clean-up.
These machines are in stock at our Claremont, Cape Town shop and ship nationwide by courier. Our staff use chasers and diamond saws daily and can advise on blades. See dust extraction for a matching vacuum, cordless SDS rotary hammers for breaking out the chase, or large angle grinders.
