Choosing a router bit set
- Shank size. Most trim and palm routers take 1/4 inch shanks. The Bosch PRO Router Bit Mixed Set, Shank 1/4 inch, 15 pcs fits them directly. Check your collet before buying.

6 mm router bit or 1/4 inch shank
A 1/4 inch shank is 6.35 mm, so a 6 mm bit does not seat properly in a 1/4 inch collet and a 1/4 inch bit will not enter a 6 mm collet. Most routers sold in South Africa come with a 1/4 inch collet. Check the markings on your collet nut or measure a bit you already own. All the Bosch sets on this page are 1/4 inch.
