Choosing a tool box
- Match your power tool brand. Bosch Professional tools ship in L-BOXX, Makita in MAKPAC, DeWalt in TSTAK or ToughSystem and Festool in Systainer. Buying the matching empty case means your new box clips onto the stack you already own.
- Carry case or organiser. A deep carry case takes a drill and charger. An organiser with removable bins, like the DeWalt TSTAK IP54 or Festool Sortainer, is for screws, bits and fittings.
- Wheels for heavy kit. The DeWalt TSTAK mobile storage and trolley, Makita MAKPAC trolley and Makita MAKTRAK rolling chest move a full stack with one hand.
- Drawers or lids. The Bosch L-BOXX Contractor drawer and rack units and the DeWalt TSTAK two-drawer box let you reach parts without unstacking.
- Soft bags. Bosch, DeWalt and Stanley FatMax tool bags are lighter than a plastic box for a hand tool kit.
Bosch L-BOXX and the Bosch Contractor range
The L-BOXX 136 and L-BOXX 238 are the standard cases for Bosch Professional tools, and foam inserts are available to custom-fit a tool. The newer Contractor 170, 322 and 476 boxes, crate, drawer unit and rack stack and latch together for a complete site storage system. If you run DeWalt, the TSTAK deep carry case is the equivalent starting point. Fill either with hand tools from the same range.
