This range covers band saws for wood and metal cutting, from benchtop machines for a home workshop to floor-standing models for a production shop. It suits woodworkers cutting curves and resawing timber, metalworkers doing horizontal stock cutting, and anyone upgrading from a jigsaw for straighter, cleaner cuts.
Choosing a band saw
Start with throat depth and resaw height, which set the widest and tallest stock the saw can handle. Wheel size determines blade length and minimum cutting radius, so tighter curve work needs a smaller wheel. For metal cutting, look at horizontal bandsaws with a variable-speed motor so blade speed can be matched to the material. Motor power matters most when resawing thick hardwood, while table tilt is worth checking if you cut angled stock often.
Brands stocked
The range includes Axminster, Laguna, Metabo and Einhell, spanning benchtop woodworking saws through to dedicated horizontal metal-cutting bandsaws.
Stock is held in Cape Town with nationwide courier delivery, and PTS staff use these machines themselves and can help match a saw to your workshop.
