A Bosch laser level replaces the spirit level, chalk line and second pair of hands for setting out tiles, ceilings, cabinets, partitions and services. This collection covers the Bosch Professional line laser range from the two-line GLL 2-10 up to the three-plane GLL 80-33 G and GLL 18V-120-33 CG, combi point-and-line lasers, rotation lasers for site levelling, the LR 7 receiver and the GIM 60 L digital inclinometer.
Choosing a Bosch laser level
- Red or green beam. Green lasers (the "G" models: GLL 2-20 G, GLL 80-33 G, GCL 2-50 G, GLL3XG) are up to four times as visible to the eye. Red models (GLL 2-10, GLL 12-22, GLL 5-50 X) are cheaper and fine indoors.
- Lines and planes. A cross-line laser such as the GLL 2-10 or GLL 12-22 projects a horizontal and a vertical line. Three-plane 360° lasers (GLL3XG, GLL 80-33 G, GLL 18V-120-33 CG) project a full horizontal circle plus two vertical planes, so one setup levels a whole room.
- Points and plumb. The GCL 2-50 G and GCL 2-50 CG combi lasers add plumb points above and below.
- Power and connectivity. Most run on AA cells or Bosch 12V packs; the GLL 18V-120-33 CG runs on Bosch 18V tool batteries, and the "CG" and "CHV" models connect to the Bosch Levelling Remote app.
Bosch line laser vs rotation laser
A line laser is the tool for interiors and fit-out. For external levelling, paving, drainage falls and large floors, the GRL 300 HV and GRL 600 CHV rotation lasers project a beam over the whole site and work with a receiver on a staff. Mount them on a tripod for working height, add a laser receiver for bright conditions, and pair with a laser measure for distances.
