I’m ever so glad that Bruce convinced me to go for the Martlet unit instead of a similar, cheaper brand. The difference in quality of material used is immediately apparent.
It has a beefy enough motor to move a lot of air and is rather more quiet than I expected (definitely makes a lot less noise than my shop vac).
The cloth filter is quality - it’s such a relief to not see the air fill with dust as you work.
If you’re a hobbyist or need something semi-industrial for your small shop, this is a great entry level machine and worth the extra expense over cheaper options, based on the fact that it has a stronger motor, parts are made of thicker sheet metal and the unit is overall a lot sturdier than what I’ve seen.
If/when I need to upgrade to a larger machine, I’ll definitely buy another Martlet.
