The classic Irwin Marples Mortice & Marking Gauge TM2153 mortice and marking gauge. Marples Gauges are fitted with hard wearing hardened steel spurs and fitted with a polyester friction pad.

- They are fitted with a polyester friction pad between the thumb screw and stem to ensure a smooth sliding action
- Mortice and Marking Gauge has a single spur on top of the stem and two spurs on the underside for marking mortices
- The second of these is on a brass slide for smooth, easy adjustment
