The classic Irwin Marples Mortice & Marking Gauge TM2153 mortice and marking gauge. Marples Gauges are fitted with hard wearing hardened steel spurs and fitted with a polyester friction pad.

  • Marples Gauges are fitted with hard wearing hardened steel spurs
  • In addition, the hole in the stock is carefully broached to match the stem’s contour
  • They are fitted with a polyester friction pad between the thumb screw and stem to ensure a smooth sliding action
  • Mortice and Marking Gauge has a single spur on top of the stem and two spurs on the underside for marking mortices
  • The second of these is on a brass slide for smooth, easy adjustment
