Excellent

This saw is based on the Mafell MT55 and made in Germany (either by Mafell or by Bosch based on a modified Mafell design). In essence it is the MT55, with a few subtle differences. The Bosch has a front handle for more support during the cut, while the Mafell has a scoring function to reduce chip out (like the Makita plunge saw) and a quick blade change feature where the entire side of the saw opens up to get to the blade. Those differences aside they are practically the same and that is a very good thing: the saw is fantastic. More powerful than the Festool TS55, very effective dust collection and extremely well built. I cannot fault the saw at all. The saw supports both the FSN/Mafell and Festool/Makita tracks - using the FSN/Mafell rails is the preferred option given that it has a far superior joining system and has a replaceable splinter guard that doesn't involve adhesive. The only downside here is that Bosch ZA appears to not be interested in stocking accessories for the FSN system anymore.
