I've always been quite negative about jigsaws - an opinion based on my underpowered Black and Decker from the mid 90s. The results were never acceptable. This jigsaw has changed my opinion completely! It is absolutely possible to use this jigsaw as a space-saving alternative to a bandsaw. It has more than enough power to deal with 50 mm hardwoods while leaving a very clean cut. Dust control, either through collection or the built in blower works well. Blade changes are very simple using a quick release mechanism - no tools required. Finally the barrel grip is much more comfortable than the more traditional D Handle. Even though I'm not using it inverted, I find it much simpler to control with the lower center of mass. No downsides to mention!
