A Stabila level is the reference tool on site when a wall, frame or machine has to be truly plumb and flat. Power Tool Services stocks the Stabila T96-2 Spirit Level in a choice of lengths, the box-section professional level that bricklayers, shopfitters, tilers and machine installers across South Africa ask for by name.
Choosing a Stabila level
- Length. A short level reads the local spot, while a long one averages out bumps and shows the true line. For door frames and cabinets, a level around 600 mm to 1 m is the workhorse. For walls and screeds, step up to 1.8 m or 2 m. The Stabila T96-2 Spirit Level comes in several sizes.
- Profile strength. The T96-2 uses a reinforced box profile that resists twisting, which keeps a long level accurate after years in a van.
- Vial reading. Look for vials you can read from above and from the side, and a plumb vial you can read standing up. Stabila vials are fixed in the profile, so they hold their setting.
- Two levels, not one. Most trades carry a short and a long level. Buy the long one first if you set out walls, and the short one first if you fit cabinets.
