Multi tool blades for oscillating multi tools from Bosch, Makita, Festool, DeWalt and Tork Craft: plunge-cut blades for wood and metal, segment blades, carbide grout removers, scrapers and sanding pads. Most of the range is Starlock, the fitting shared by Bosch and Makita, with Festool blades for the Vecturo and Tork Craft quick-change blades for older universal-fit tools. It suits plumbers, electricians, flooring fitters and renovators who use the multi tool for everything the other saws cannot reach.
Choosing multi tool blades
- Fitting: Starlock fits Bosch, Makita and most current oscillating tools; Starlock Plus and Max blades need a Plus or Max rated tool. Check your tool's rating before ordering a Max blade.
- Blade material: HCS for wood and plastic; BIM (bi-metal) for wood with nails, screws and thin metal; carbide-tipped or carbide-RIFF for grout, mortar, tile adhesive and hardened screws.
- Width: narrow 10 mm and 20 mm blades for plunge cuts in skirting and cable chases; 32 mm and 65 mm for flush-cutting door jambs and undercutting architraves; 85 mm to 100 mm segment blades for long straight cuts in plasterboard.
- Sets: the Festool SYS3 blade set covers the common jobs in one box.
Bosch multi tool blades: PRO vs EXPERT
Bosch PRO blades are the everyday range and are fine for softwood, plasterboard and the occasional nail. The EXPERT blades use carbide teeth and last far longer in hardwood, screws, metal and abrasive materials like fibre cement, so if you cut these every day, EXPERT works out cheaper per cut. The Festool oscillator blades suit Festool Vecturo tools and the Makita Starlock blades suit the Makita TM and DTM tools.
