Makita Trimmer 6.35mm RT0700C

I placed my order on 19 Oct and received it on 22 Oct in Gauteng. The item was very neatly packaged. The Makita box was placed in another box and then in a courier bag. I will definitely shop with you again. Thank you!

OK, so by the title alone you can probably already tell how this review is going to go … I have owned a few routers before and since I purchased my trimmer and this one remains my favourite. It’s handy, light, capable and the ease of swapping bits (and subsequent plunge range) is probably what makes me reach for this rather than any of my other 1/4” routers.

It’s a well balanced machine which creates very little torque spin when considering the motor size and form factor. If this review convinces you to buy one, maybe consider the kit with plunge and other bases - it’s worth the extra cost, especially once you realise that this is probably the only 1/4” router you need.

Do not be fooled into thinking that this is a more expensive equivalent to the cheaper Makita MT trimming router or Bosch (both around a grand cheaper); this is in a completely different league with its aluminium base, more powerful motor, depth tuning knob (where the Bosch has a locknut, despite the geared groove) and variable speed with soft start - this is a proper router in a small form factor.

I’ll definitely purchase the same again (maybe next time with the kit and/or cordless) - can highly recommend.
