Lives up to the hype

Originally these were selling at a much higher price, which made competitor/knock-off brands all the more attractive - after all: it’s a pencil, what could go wrong? … apparently a lot - compared to other brands (e.g. Pacer) the sharpener is part of the lid, which means you don’t have to remove any part of the pencil you’re using to sharpen it. Further on the topic of sharpening: the clutch actually holds the lead tightly (I have found, with other brands, that the sharpener blade grabs the lead which then turns in the clutch … very annoying) which makes it easy and convenient to sharpen.

These are super handy and comes with a range of lead hardness options, which will make it perfectly suited to your needs - using the right hardness lead will ensure you being able to mark more accurately for longer with longer sharpening intervals.

Since the price has been (drastically) reduced, there really is no reason to try another brand as there is nothing to fault on the Pica.

Leave a few laying around your shop so you never have to wonder “now where did I out that *&£@ pencil” ever again … can highly recommend.

Absolutely worth it

Have a few of these around the workshop now with different coloured leads - for light and dark woods. The thick lead allows you to extend it quite far for marking into deep recesses without breaking. The cap has a built in sharpener and prevents the pencil from rolling away. I still use a marking knife where accuracy is required, but the Pica pencil is used for marking pieces and making notes in the workshop.

Pica - Longlife Automatic Pen

Awesome little pencil kit with a holder that clips snugly into my pocket for easy use and storage on the go. The lead tips are easy to replace and keep sharp by using the onboard sharpener in front. This tool goes with me everywhere and the long reach "deep hole" makes it the best pencil ever to get into small areas and acts as a self-centering tip in some applications.

Great service and fast delivery from Power Tool Services, thanks guys, keep it up.
